When I finally caught up with him, his eyes were open, but he didn’t seem awake. He was whispering in a language I had never heard before. I grabbed his arm to stop him, but it felt as though he couldn’t even feel me. Then he suddenly gasped, collapsed to the ground, and lost consciousness.”
The next morning, the student who had wandered toward the canyon claimed he remembered nothing about the incident.
According to his friends, he was never quite the same afterward. They said he became withdrawn and often insisted that someone—or something—was following him.
Religious elders and local storytellers have long shared their own explanations for the strange events reported in the valley. Some believe Kal Jeni is a place where unseen spirits roam freely, while others see the stories as warnings meant to keep people away from the dangerous cliffs and caves.
